YOU AND ME

I never would have dreamed...

Just a few months ago...

That I would be at this point...

And now letting you know...

I smile at the thought...

Of when we do meet...

Face to face, soul to soul...

What a moment, so sweet...

At that very second...

When our eyes intersect...

A bright spark of love...

As our hearts will connect...

And such is this love...

As we have not known...

Other than The Father...

Whose love we've been shown...

John, you well know...

I've given my heart to you...

Truly I am blessed...

For you've given yours too...

With two hearts so true...

And a love so pure...

Not one single doubt...

That we will endure...

I look forward to all...

Smiles, laughter, and tears...

As our love blooms...

And grows through the years.

Poem written especially for John. 1999 Copyright Kimmie!

I did not write this poem, John, but I thought
that it was lovely and wanted to share!

I Love Thee

Thou art not near me, but I see Thine eyes
Shine through the gloom like stars in winter skies---
Pointing the way my longing steps would go,
To come to Thee because I love Thee so.

Thou art not near me, but I feel Thine arm,
Soft folded round me, shielding me from harm,
Guiding me on as in the days of old---
Sometimes life seems so dark, so dreary and so cold.

Thou art not near me, but I hear Thee speak,
Sweet as the breath of June upon my cheek,
And as Thou speakest I forget my fears,
And all the darkness, and my lonely tears.

O love, my love, whatever our fate may be,
Close to Thy side, or never to be with Thee,
Absent or present, near or far apart,
Thou hast my love and fillest all my heart.
